Product Identification

The Ethernet-Mux is delivered with a product label
containing an unique serial number and the product revision.

An example for such a product label is shown to the right.
The corresponding device has the serial number ``00003.00001``,
indicating it is the first instance in product class
``00003 (Ethernet-Mux)``.

The revision string ``D02-R01-V01-C00`` decodes to:

* ``D02`` - Second device in the ``ethmux`` device class
* ``R01`` - Device revision four
* ``V01`` - Assembly variant one
* ``C00`` - No post-manufacturing hardware changes
